Mr. Cook co-founded Cook & Bynum and serves as the Portfolio Manager of its global and emerging markets strategies. Before starting the firm in 2001, he worked for pioneering hedge fund Tudor Investment Corporation in Greenwich, CT. He earned his B.S. degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Economics from Hampden-Sydney College.
After years spent on Wall Street as an equity analyst and then as a co-founder of independent research and consulting firm Melius Research, Mr. Copeland joined aircraft-simulation company CAE in 2021 and now serves on the firm’s Executive Management Committee, with a particular focus on the company’s growth agenda. He graduated with honors from the University of Alabama with a degree in Economics and also holds an M.B.A. from Washington University.
Mr. Davidson in 2013 joined renowned British investment manager Jeremy Hosking as a Founding Partner and Portfolio Manager of Hosking Partners, which takes what it calls a “capital-cycle” approach to investing. Prior to joining Hosking Partners, he was a Partner at Algebris Investments LLP, one of the three funds backed by the Children’s Investment Fund. He holds a B.A. degree in geography from the University of Oxford.
Having joined Horizon Kinetics in 2005 as a trader, Mr. Davolos currently serves as Co-Portfolio Manager of the firm’s Inflation Beneficiaries ETF [INFL] and of several private funds and institutional separate accounts that focus on hard-asset business models including royalties, infrastructure and exchanges. He received a B.B.A. in Finance from Loyola University in Maryland and an M.B.A. from New York University.
After a 17-year tenure at Southeastern Asset Management, Mr. Fitzpatrick founded Vulcan Value Partners in 2007 and remains the firm’s Chief Investment Officer, leading a research team responsible for investing approximately $7.3 billion for a global client base. He serves on The University of Alabama’s President’s Cabinet and on the Board of Visitors at the Culverhouse College of Business, where he founded the C.T. and Kelley Fitzpatrick Center for Value Investing. He is a CFA charterholder, earned his M.B.A. from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University, and graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.S. degree in Corporate Finance.
Mr. Majcher joined Hotchkis & Wiley in 1997 to launch its Mid-Cap Value strategy, which he continues to co-manage today. As an analyst, he covers energy companies and is a member of the firm’s energy and financial sector teams. He received a B.S. degree in Finance and Marketing from Georgetown University and is a CFA charterholder.
Mr. O’Keefe joined Artisan Partners in 2002 and has served since its inception in 2007 as the Co-Portfolio Manager and now Lead Portfolio Manager of the firm’s Global Value strategy, which now manages nearly $30 billon in assets. During his tenure, he has been nominated six times for Morningstar’s International Stock Fund Manager of the Year award, winning it twice, in 2008 and 2013. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Northwestern University.
Ms. Reid is a partner in the Flagship Fund at private-equity firm L Catterton, which she joined in 2020 from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she was a managing director in that firm’s Consumer & Retail investment banking group, advising on M&A transactions and raising debt and equity capital for both public and private companies. She holds B.S. in Finance, Master of Science in Finance, and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Alabama.
Originally a public accountant, Mr. Robotti turned to investing at Gabelli & Co. and then founded Robotti & Co. in 1983, where he remains the firm’s President and Chief Investment Officer. He currently serves on the board of directors of publicly traded firms AMREP Corp., Tidewater, Inc. and Pulse Seismic. He holds a B.S. degree from Bucknell University and an M.B.A. from Pace University.
After 15 years as a top-ranked oil services and equipment analyst on Wall Street, Mr. Sanger served as a Portfolio Manager at SAC Capital prior to founding Geosphere Capital in 2007, where he focuses on companies actively participating in the global energy transition. He graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in Technology and also holds an M.B.A. from Tulane University.
After 12 years as a financial journalist at The Wall Street Journal, TheStreet.com and the Financial Times, Mr. Schurr turned to investing in 2006, specializing in short-selling. He joined Balyasny Asset Management in 2021 and now serves as the multi-strategy firm’s Senior Managing Director of Fundamental Equities as well as a Portfolio Manager. He holds a B.A. in English Literature and American Studies from Princeton University.
