Mr. Cook co-founded Cook & Bynum in 2001 and continues to serve as its Portfolio Manager. Before starting the firm, he worked for pioneering hedge fund Tudor Investment Corporation in Greenwich, CT. He earned his B.S. degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Economics from Hampden-Sydney College.
Mr. Davidowitz is the lead portfolio manager for the flagship Focus Growth strategy at Polen Capital, which he joined in 2005. He received his B.S. in Public Health from Rutgers University, earned an M.B.A. from the City University of New York’s Baruch College Zicklin School of Business and is a CFA charterholder.
Having joined Horizon Kinetics in 2005 as a trader, Mr. Davolos currently serves as Co-Portfolio Manager of the firm’s Inflation Beneficiaries ETF [INFL], launched in January 2021, and of its Internet Fund. He received a B.B.A. in Finance from Loyola University in Maryland and an M.B.A. from New York University.
After a 17-year tenure at Southeastern Asset Management, Mr. Fitzpatrick founded Vulcan Value Partners in 2007 and remains the firm’s Chief Investment Officer. He serves on The University of Alabama’s President’s Cabinet and on the Board of Visitors at the Culverhouse College of Business, where he founded the C.T. and Kelley Fitzpatrick Center for Value Investing. He is a CFA charterholder, earned his M.B.A. from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University, and graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.S. degree in Corporate Finance.
Ms. Harrington is the CEO of Gilman Hill Asset Management and Portfolio Manager of its flagship Equity Income strategy. She began her career as a Financial Analyst at Goldman Sachs and prior to joining Gilman Hill was a Vice President and Associate Portfolio Manager at Neuberger Berman. She holds a Master’s in Business degree from Columbia University and a B.A. in Economics from Hollins College.
Mr. Kiper in 2012 co-founded Legion Partners Asset Management, a long-only activist investment firm focused on the North American small-cap market. Prior to co-founding Legion, he managed a concentrated activist fund for Shamrock Capital Advisors, the alternative investment vehicle of the Disney family. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Nebraska.
Mr. Majcher joined Hotchkis & Wiley in 1997 to launch its Mid-Cap Value strategy, which he still co-manages today. As an analyst, he covers energy companies and is a member of the firm’s energy and financial sector teams. He received a B.S. degree in Finance and Marketing from Georgetown University and is a CFA charterholder.
Mr. Pilecki founded Gator Capital Management in 2008 and currently manages the firm’s long/short and long-only strategies focused on financial-sector equities. Prior to starting Gator, he worked for Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he served as a portfolio manager and co-chaired the Growth Equity team’s investment committee. He is a CFA charterholder and holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in Economics from Duke University.
Mr. Samra is a Managing Director of Artisan Partners and is the lead Portfolio Manager of the firm’s International Value Strategy, which he has managed since its inception in 2002. Under Mr. Samra’s leadership, his team has been nominated six times for Morningstar’s International-Stock Fund Manager of the Year Award and won it in 2008 and 2013. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Bentley College and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
Mr. Schwarz joined First Manhattan in 2001 and today manages assets for individuals, families, partnerships, and trusts. He played a lead role in establishing two of the firm’s private investment vehicles, the FM First China Funds, and FMZ Ventures Fund. He holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and a B.A. in Economics and International Relations from Brown University.
Mr. Scruggs joined Bragg Financial in 1999 and now serves as its Director of Research and as the primary portfolio manager of two mutual funds it manages, the FPA Queens Road Value Fund and the FPA Queens Road Small Cap Value Fund. A CFA charterholder, he earned a B.A. in Business Management from North Carolina State University and an M.B.A. from Wake Forest University.
